My first EMS run

So, I can't really talk about the person or the incident, but my first run happened in February of 2012. I got a text around 3:30 asking if I wanted to go on a run. I thought, I'm not doing anything else, sure, why not. What I didn't realize, was that I'd be riding a bus past Norris (we don't have any oversnow ambulances so we were lucky that one of the concessionaires would lend us one), then riding it back with the patient, transferring the patient to a road ambulance, and then riding 50 miles up the road to Livingston. It was interesting. And a long day.

Skiing

Living in Montana, I get to do some pretty cool things. Today, I went up to the B-Bar ranch with Lee Anne and Heidi and skied there. It is a gorgeous spot, only 20 or so miles from Gardiner. Scuttlebutt has it they may start selling season tickets next year. I would love that. Great place to ski, someplace to learn the trail, wouldn't have to drive to Bozeman. Win, win, win!
Believe it or not, it was snowing pretty heavily at that time. And it was cold. But not very.

February Parental Visit

I knew that one of my parents' Top 10 Places to Visit was Yellowstone in the winter so, when Xanterra offered  a Frosty Fun package as  part of a raffle, I stacked the deck. Each can of donated food got you a ticket and each dollar you donated got you a ticket. I won. Damn right for all the money I spent. It was a good cause. Anyway, I called Mom and Dad to let them know and they didn't believe me at first. But they didn't turn it down!
Seeing them get on the bus was like watching my kids go off to school for the first time.

They got back from what Dad said was the best trip ever. Mom made him amend it to top 3 since they had just had a vacation where they went to Italy for a week of hiking and wine with three other couples with  whom they are close.
I got one day with them when they got back and we switched my living room and dining room furniture (as well as a lot of other pieces) and then went for walk up to the cemetery. After that, I drove them up to Bozeman and then got back here in time for EMT class.

Wigs 'n' Whiskey

And then, the next night, Dan and Becky hosted a Wigs 'n' Whiskey party. What, you may ask yourselves, is a Wigs 'n' Whiskey party? Um, if you can't figure that out, you need help. Much fun was had. Just check out the pictures...

Aimee's Birthday

And then, it was Aimee Guiles' birthday. We had fun. There was cake, and shock. Aimee thought it was a kick-off to the Lenten season. Instead, we surprised her with cake and fun. Lots of beads were worn by all. It was fun.
