Biking in January?

It happened. What do you do when there's not enough snow to ski? Head out on the road, baby. Heidi, Becky, and I biked out to Beattie Gulch and back, about a 9 mile trip. Pretty fun. And I got some sun. The mud was a bitch to clean off the bike though.

I got invited to the awesome ranch where James works. Almost everyone there was friends with him and Bridgette. And they were so much fun. And the ranch is gorgeous. And fabulous.

WINTER OFFICIALLY BEGINS ON WEDNESDAY... DECEMBER 21ST AT 1030 PM... AND MOTHER NATURE WILL BEGIN WINTER WITH SOME FIREWORKS. A STORM SYSTEM IS TAKING SHAPE... WHICH WILL BRING SNOWFALL TO MUCH... IF NOT ALL OF WESTERN AND CENTRAL WYOMING... IN THE WEDNESDAY THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY TIMEFRAME. CURRENTLY... THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL FROM THIS WINTER STORM IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT ALONG AND EAST OF THE DIVIDE... ESPECIALLY IN FAVORED UPSLOPE LOCATIONS SUCH AS THE LANDER FOOTHILLS... AND AREAS AROUND CASPER. SNOWFALL IN THESE LOCATIONS COULD RANGE BETWEEN 3 AND 6 INCHES... WITH ADJACENT MOUNTAINS RECEIVING 4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW. OTHERWISE... ONE TO THREE INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED IN THE LOWER ELEVATIONS... AND 3 TO 6 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS.

IN ADDITION... BREEZY NORTHERLY WINDS WILL OCCUR IN WAKE OF A STRONG COLD FRONT SURGING SOUTH ACROSS THE AREA WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THE BREEZY CONDITIONS WILL RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOWFALL IN SOME AREAS. VERY COLD TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED THURSDAY... WITH TEMPERATURES STRUGGLING TO GET OUT OF THE TEENS.

THERE REMAINS MUCH UNCERTAINTY ON THE AMOUNTS AND LOCATIONS OF THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL EXPECTED WITH THIS STORM SYSTEM.
